Structure of Assignment

Introduction

  • Brief introduction and background of the MNE you have chosen, to include a summary of its current trading environment.
  • Brief summary of the aims and objectives of the Company/Organisation and its approach towards its Human Resources.

Main body

  • Using the various studies on cross-cultural management research, the Hofstede, the Trompenaars & Hampden-Turner and the GLOBE study, your task, in your capacity as the Director of International Human Resource Director, is to draft a survival guide for Managers (PCNs) working and living within the host country for the next 3 – 5 years.
  • In addition to issues of cross-cultural management, take into consideration and factor in the following issues;
    • Issues relating to the Organisational Culture of the Parent Country Headquarters (PCNs).
    • Issues relating to Context and Environment of the Host Country (HCNs).
    • Issues relating to sourcing HR for the Host Country (HCNs).
    • Issues relating to performance management in the Host Country (HCNs).
    • Issues relating to training and development in the Host Country (HCNs).
