Description of the assignment:

This is an individual word-processed essay of 2000 words (plus a Reference list set out using the Harvard referencing system) on the following question:

CHOOSE BETWEEN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ESSAY TITLES:

Research evidence suggests that the psychological contract (the PC) of Generation Y will be based on a different set of needs and expectations from other employees. Critically explore the role of the psychological contract and discuss how organisations can respond to these changing expectations.

OR

Examine a range of alternative methods of involving employees in decision making and discuss the benefits and challenges that these might present for an organisation.

In this essay it is expected that you demonstrate your understanding of the topic and critically explore the different perspectives required for the essay you have chosen. Further information on hints and tips to help you complete this essay will be given in the lecture in Unit 8.

  • Start the essay by introducing what you will explore in more detail later in the body of the essay
  • Then provide a clear discussion about thetopic.
  • Draw on literature and organisational examples to explore ways organisations respond to these topics
