Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become important for modern times.  This is evident through the widespread use of cell phones, smart phones, emails, web conferencing, Internet and Cloud etc. However, it is not all the good news. There are challenges as well.

You are required to write a report on the following topic:

• Over the last decade or so, the Cloud, its storage and computing have become significantly important in replacing the need for businesses to acquire and maintain their own infrastructure in providing online services. Assuming you are a business manager discuss advantages, disadvantages, suitability and applications of cloud storage and computing.

• More and more students are turning to the Internet when doing research for their course work. However, anyone can put anything on a Website as there could be no review or screening process. Discuss key skills required to conduct research online and challenges being faced.

• The dark web is a nefarious place, where criminals lurk and communicate, buy, sell, plot and plunder. It is the data black hole, a home to information stolen in data breaches. With information so easily accessible to fraudsters, it is no surprise ID theft is booming. Only through understanding, threat can it be avoided. Discuss the challenges and measures of security and privacy that you would take when you are using Internet.

LO2: Take responsibility for personal security and privacy when using the internet

LO3: Develop online research skills

LO4: Develop digital communication skills
