Your portfolio of activities is based on the PBL work undertaken throughout the module. It contains three distinct pieces of work assessing LOs 1,2 & 3 across the three main knowledge domains (child development, adult development, and individual differences across the lifespan).

There are 2 elements to each portfolio entry

Evidence of PBL process engagement (no word limit)

Evidence of PBL outcomes (2,000 word)

Evidence of PBL process engagement

This will be illustrated visually in the portfolio (eg using mind maps), drawn directly from the weekly workshops . As a minimum, you should present a generic visual representation of your groupwork output from the relevant workshop (in which case it might be identical to the evidence presented by your co-workers), or you may wish to amend and extend this if you have subsequently undertaken significant additional private research on this topic. If you are undertaking the work independently for some or all of the PBLs during the summer re-sit period the visual representations may be based on your own individual work, or, if you have some groupwork from the semester 1 session, you can include some group and some individual work. It is perfectly acceptable to re-use any evidence or submitted materials from your first attempt at this assignment.

Your portfolio MUST contain separate evidence of PBL engagement for all 3 artefacts in order to meet the LOs for this module. You cannot pass the portfolio if this is missing.

Evidence of PBL outcomes

This will include an individually-created artefact such as a poster, an advice leaflet, a set of guidelines etc which demonstrate your ability to utilise or transform academic knowledge to create a practical application of such knowledge.  Each artefact MUST be individually produced, and should be created and annotated by you alone, and not in conjunction with other people.  Each artefact must be annotated or appended with an explanation of the design and/or the key elements comprising the artefact which is grounded in the academic literature, enabling the reader to understand how the knowledge you have gained from the academic research during your PBL work has been transformed to create a real-world application. You may include one or more of the same artefacts if you are resubmitting failed work, but do bear in mind that they will need substantial reworking if they did not meet the required standard when originally submitted.

LOs K1 and K2 are primarily evidenced via the visual engagement with the PBL process (eg  mindmaps or diagrams), and LO S3 in the production of the artefacts. Whilst the visual engagement evidence is a prerequisite for the marking of the artefacts, the individually-produced artefacts will account for 100% of the marks awarded for the portfolio. As LO S3 states that successful completion must cover a range of real world applications, you are required to include all 3 artefacts in order to meet LO S3.

Please note that failure to complete all 3 entries will result in a fail grade being awarded, as you would be unable to meet the LOs of this assessment.
