This module aims to introduce students to the basic principles and practices of management within the business world, and how such organizations fit within the national, international and global business environment.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to apply management tools that analyse the internal and external environment
  • Demonstrate use and understanding of the soft skills required by managers
  • Compare and contrast different management theories and styles within different business sectors.
  • Develop an appreciation of reflective practice and its role in shaping management thinking.
