- Critically evaluate and analyse current research into Computer Security and be able to formulate critical academic and professional responses to given research exercises
Assessment Content
You are the chief researcher of a tech company, which is in the process of launching their first IoT products. Your task is to critically review the state of the art in IoT security protocols and architectures to identify a potential gap or weakness, followed by an evaluation strategy that tests this weakness and / or proposes technical solutions to the problem. You are free to make any assumptions about the nature of IoT products developed in your company. Your task is to create a portfolio consisting of the following parts:
- Presentation (40% of final mark): Prepare a 5-10 minute podcast presentation discussing the state of the art in IoT security protocols and architectures, leading to the identification of a potential gap. Please use references to support any claims.
- Research Paper (60% of final mark): Write a research paper that summarizes the findings from the previous stage and proceeds to propose an evaluation strategy that tests this weakness. If applicable, the paper could propose a technical solution to the identified problem. (3,500 words, excluding references and appendices)
