What am I required to do in this assignment?

  1. You are required to compile an ePortfolioover the 6 week block, which is an online representation of your academic and professional accomplishments and achievements. It is a great way to keep all of your learning and assessment in one place to highlight your abilities and capabilities as a professional and to demonstrate your achievement of the learning outcomes for the unit.
  2. You will submit a variety of assessment types, for example, professional narrated poster presentation, podcast, vlogs, blogs, professional emails, professional presentations, business report (each equivalent to approx. 1500 words).
  3. You will build your e-portfolio throughout the unit with a mandatory formative assessment in week 3 (6 PT) of a minimum of 2 assessment types from those above. Feedback will be provided.
  4. You will continue to build your e-portolio with a minimum of a further 2assessment types from those above, the final one being a business report on a topic of contemporary relevance.

  1. The final summative assessment in week 6 (12 PT) will comprise a minimum of 4 contributions including the final business reports, over the 6 week block equivalent to 6,000words in total, excluding references and appendices.

How does this assignment relate to what we are doing in scheduled sessions?

A flipped classroom approach is used to allow practical application in scheduled workshops.  It is essential that you complete the guided learning detailed in the unit study guide in advance of the scheduled classes.

In scheduled sessions you will participate in discussions of the ‘hot topic(s)’ specified in the context of a live consultancy project(s) or in the context of contemporary case studies.  Group discussions guided by the teaching team will support your understanding of the integration of theory and practice in relation to leadership, operations and information systems including a consideration of how these might impact financial statements. In this way you will develop an understanding and critical appreciation of how the integration of theory and practice in context supports problem solving and decision making to improve performance in real life organizations.In this way you will demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities and approaches to orchestrate the effective utilization of organizational resources, systems and processes.

Weekly session outlines provide details of the task that you need to address.   The first three contributions must address the tasks specified in Weeks 1, 2 and 4.   The final, compulsory, contribution to the e-Portfolio is the written 1500-word Business Report:
